Elon Musk vs Zuckerberg?

Why did Elon Musk and Zuckerberg fight?

It all started when Musk, who owns X, responded to a tweet about Meta preparing to release a new Twitter rival called Threads. He took a dig about the world becoming “exclusively under Zuck's thumb with no other options” — but then one Twitter user jokingly warned Musk of Zuckerberg's jiu jitsu training.

Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg has said he is "not holding his breath" over a proposed cage fight with rival Elon Musk.

Social Media Moguls Rivalry

In a post on the newly developed social media app Threads, Mr. Zuckerberg mentioned that he suggested August 26th for the proposed encounter.

In response to a post on X where Mr. Musk claimed continuous training, Mr. Zuckerberg stated, "I'm prepared today... but he hasn't confirmed," after the two turned into direct competitors with the Threads launch in July.

When a Threads user inquired about the agreement for the fight, Mr. Zuckerberg likened it more to "funding secured," alluding to Mr. Musk's 2018 posts about taking Tesla private, which resulted in a $20 million fine and other consequences.

Mr. Musk introduced uncertainty about the fight's timing due to a possible neck and upper back surgery, remarking that the "Exact date is still in flux."

The rivalry between the social media moguls has escalated recently, with Mr. Musk asserting that the live broadcast of the fight would be on his platform X (previously Twitter), and the proceeds would benefit veterans charities.

When questioned about the purpose of the bout by an X user, Mr. Musk replied, "It's a civilized form of war. Men love war."

Responding to the idea of streaming the fight on X, Mr. Zuckerberg suggested using a more reliable platform for charity fundraising.

The stakes appear high following Meta's launch of Threads, which gained over 100 million sign-ups initially but saw a significant user drop by the end of the month.

Rival social media platform X, under Mr. Musk's leadership, faced criticism for changes like mandatory logins and mass layoffs.
